Summary

The site has multiple broken CTAs, placeholder content, and dead links that make it impossible for visitors to take action. This ticket covers all fixes needed to make scott.scoble.me fully functional.

Changes Required

1. All Blog CTAs → LinkedIn

Files: All files in src/pages/blog/*.astro
Current: CTA boxes offer "90-minute workshop" or "Get in touch" linking to /contact (which has broken forms)
New: Change all blog CTA buttons to "Connect with me on LinkedIn" linking to https://linkedin.com/in/scottscoble
Update CTA copy to something like: "Want to continue this conversation? Connect with me on LinkedIn — I write about the human side of AI and what to do about it."
Apply to: ai-brain-fry.astro, gallup-disengagement.astro, surveillance-extraction.astro, devex-shift.astro, token-anxiety.astro

2. Books Page — Fix Amazon Links

File: src/pages/books.astro
Current: Both books have href="#" for Amazon and Publisher links
New:
- The Soil Beneath the Code: Amazon → https://a.co/d/0226o4Hg, remove "Publisher" link
- A Walk in Mentoring: Amazon → https://a.co/d/0bRKZeUV, remove "Publisher" link
Dark Provenance waitlist form stays (it's a real form, see #3)

3. Contact Page — Remove Formspree, Use mailto

Files: src/pages/contact.astro, src/components/Form/SharedForm.astro
Current: Formspree endpoint is https://formspree.io/f/XXXXX (placeholder). Forms fall back to mailto: but UX is janky.
New: Remove Formspree entirely. Make the form submission construct a clean mailto:scott@scoble.me with:
- Subject: [Type] inquiry from [Name] (e.g., "Speaking inquiry from Jane Doe")
- Body: All form fields formatted nicely
- The form still validates inputs client-side before opening mailto
Also: Remove the "📅 Schedule a 20-min call" option (Calendly placeholder). Replace with LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/scottscoble
Remove .env Formspree vars if they're only used for this

4. Speaking Page — Hide Reel Placeholder

File: src/pages/speaking.astro
Current: "🎬 Speaker reel in production — Coming soon" placeholder
New: Comment out or remove the entire reel section. It adds no value and signals "unfinished"
Speaker Profile PDF and booking form stay (they're real)

5. Home Page — Fix Dead CTAs

File: src/pages/index.astro
Current:
- "Watch the Reel" button → goes to /speaking but reel is hidden (dead CTA)
- Trust bar: "[Client logos coming soon]" — placeholder
- Testimonials: empty grid, no cards — placeholder
New:
- Change "Watch the Reel" to "Connect on LinkedIn" → https://linkedin.com/in/scottscoble
- Comment out or remove the trust bar section entirely
- Comment out or remove the testimonials section entirely
- Keep everything else (hero, pillars, talks, bottom CTA)

6. Consulting Page — Fix CTA

File: src/pages/consulting.astro
Current: "Schedule Discovery Call" → /contact (broken forms)
New: Change to "Connect on LinkedIn" → https://linkedin.com/in/scottscoble

7. About Page — Hide Photo Placeholder

File: src/pages/about.astro
Current: Photo area shows "📷 Photo coming soon"
New: Hide the photo placeholder div entirely. The bio text stands on its own. Don't show placeholder UI.

8. Clean Up .env

File: .env
Remove PUBLIC_FORMSPREE_ENDPOINT and PUBLIC_FORMSPREE_HONEYPOT since we're removing Formspree

Important Notes

Do NOT remove any pages/routes — just hide placeholder sections and fix broken links
The site is built with Astro SSG (static output) and deployed to Storj
After changes, build with nix build .#website and deploy
