Opening the selector starts a background catalog refresh. When it finished, the selection jumped back to the current model, or to the top row with a search query, discarding any browsing done in the meantime. Pass the selected model into filterModels() so the refresh keeps it selected by provider and ID. If it is gone, the existing fallback applies. The index is chosen once and the list is rebuilt once.
