Problem

The Hermes gateway running in k3s cannot connect to Discord. Agent logs show:

WARNING gateway.run: Discord: discord.py not installed
WARNING gateway.run: No adapter available for discord

The container image hermes-speckl/sme:latest was built without the Discord Python package.

Impact

Blocks customer onboarding — the concierge agent cannot talk to customers through Discord. This is the last-mile blocker for end-to-end testing.

Fix

Add python3Packages.discordpy (or equivalent Discord library) to the container image's Python environment. The upstream Hermes agent at github:NousResearch/hermes-agent needs to include the Discord adapter dependencies in its build.

Options:

Add python3Packages.discordpy to the hermes-speckl flake's extraPackages
OR modify the upstream hermes-agent flake to include discord.py as a dependency
OR build a custom overlay that patches the hermes-agent package

Root cause: The upstream hermes-agent [all] extras group stopped including messaging on May 12 (switched to lazy-install). Our Nix-built containers have no pip, so runtime lazy install fails.

Fix: Override the hermes-agent package to include extraDependencyGroups = ["messaging"], pulling in discord.py, python-telegram-bot, and slack-bolt.

After merge: rebuild the image, import into containerd, restart concierge pod.
