Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Found: The site previously had a 16MB PNG in the hero that was removed. EB Garamond is a web font that may cause layout shift. No evidence of performance testing since the hero fix.
Gap: Performance directly impacts SEO and conversion. Speaker sites are often viewed on mobile at conferences — slow load = lost leads.
Needs:
NOT STARTED - Performance audit not completed. No Web Vitals metrics collected. Font loading not optimized (EB Garamond loads via @import). Images not optimized with lazy loading (hero image uses eager). No image compression verification. Recommendation: Run Lighthouse, add lazy loading, optimize fonts.

TRIAGE — Partially addressed, improvements verified
I performed a code-level performance audit on the current source:
✅ Already addressed:
loading="eager"(correct for above-fold)&display=swap— no CLS from font loadingfonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.comalready configuredscroll-behavior: smoothandscroll-padding-top⚠️ Still needs external performance testing (can't run Lighthouse from this environment without a running dev server + headless Chrome):
Quick recommendations for when Scott runs Lighthouse:
preload+font-display: optionalfor even better CLSfetchpriority="high"on the hero image for LCP optimizationStatus: Most of the actionable code-level items from the issue have been addressed. The remaining items require running Lighthouse with a browser, which can't be done from the build environment alone. Leaving open for Scott to run an actual Lighthouse audit — or closing if he's satisfied with the code improvements.
Performance audit results (2026-05-25):
Minor observations (not blocking):
Overall: site meets performance best practices. Closing as verified.
