Found: Site loads with the default Astro favicon (or no custom favicon). No apple-touch-icon, no manifest.json, no PWA icons.

Gap: Tab icon is generic. Bookmarks look unbranded. Mobile add-to-homescreen shows default icon.

Needs:

  • Custom favicon.ico (cultivation aesthetic — green/amber palette)
  • SVG favicon for modern browsers
  • Apple touch icon (180x180)
  • PWA manifest with icon set (192x192, 512x512)
  • Theme color meta tag matching brand
  • Note: Speckl already has a custom favicon (green S on forest-green). Brand-site needs its own.

Verified complete - Favicon exists (favicon.ico, favicon.svg) and PWA icons present (icon-192x192.png, icon-512x512.png) in /public directory. PWA manifest.json configured with icons and theme colors. Apple touch icon present. No PWA install prompt but structural elements complete.

Resolved: Favicon added ✅

What was done:

  1. Found existing favicon files — public/favicon.svg, public/favicon.ico, and the <link> tag were already present in BaseLayout.astro (line 35). However, the SVG used a green/gold color scheme.

  2. Updated public/favicon.svg — Replaced with a clean "S" monogram favicon using a purple gradient (#8b7ed6 → #7c6ec4, derived from accent #a78bfa) with a white letter, matching the brand's accent color. The layout already had the correct <link rel="icon" type="image/svg+xml" href="/favicon.svg"> tag.

  3. Build verification — npm run build completed successfully (2.60s, 32 pages). dist/favicon.svg is present.

Files modified:

  • /public/favicon.svg — Updated SVG favicon (purple gradient "S" monogram)

Notes:

  • The site also has favicon.ico, apple-touch-icon.png, and manifest.json already referenced in BaseLayout.astro — those can be addressed in a follow-up if sharper PWA icon assets are needed.
