The Everyone Factory — spec-first outcome practice, source of truth for os.scoble.me/tef/ Source of truth for **[The Everyone Factory](https://os.scoble.me/tef/)** — a spec-first outcome practice of Greybeard Holdings LLC.
The website is a single `index.html`. The site is served at `https://os.scoble.me/tef/` via `meos-gateway.nix` (n97-mini).
## What's here
- `index.html` — the website. Single page, monochrome, Tufte-flavored, no JS, no build step.
- The deployed copy lives at `/var/www/tef/index.html` on n97-mini.
## How deploys work
1. Edit `index.html` here.
2. Push to `main`.
3. Copy the file to `n97-mini:/var/www/tef/index.html`.
4. If the nginx location block needs changes, edit `/etc/nixos/modules/meos-gateway.nix` on n97-mini.
5. **Dry-verify with `nginx -t -c <generated-config>`** (HARD RULE, never skip — see cycle 118).
6. `sudo nixos-rebuild switch --impure --flake /etc/nixos#n97-mini`
7. Verify with `curl -sS -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}\n" https://os.scoble.me/tef/`
## Constraints
- No tunnels (Scott, 2026-06-11). meos-gateway + nixos-rebuild only.
- Touching `services.nginx` → dry-verify first.
- The site's copy is Scott's voice. Review all changes before merging.
## Practice context
The Everyone Factory is a spec-first outcome practice. The function is `engine(spec) = Product`. The orientation is everyone. The brand holds; the work fills.
The full practice plan lives in this session's working memory and the issue tracker.

The Everyone Factory

A spec-first outcome practice. The factory is the engine. Everyone is the orientation.

Greybeard Holdings LLC · Henderson, NV · 2026

What it is

The factory takes a spec. The spec is the contract. The contract is in your hand before any code gets written. The factory builds to the contract. The contract is the deliverable.

This is not a software shop. This is not a SaaS factory. This is a practice that produces whatever the spec describes — software today, books next, physical goods after. The medium changes. The function is the same.

The function

In one line:

engine(spec) = Product

The engine takes a spec. The engine returns a product. The product is whatever the spec describes — a SaaS, a book, a 3D-printed part, a crochet pattern. The spec is the input contract. The product is the output. The factory is the function.

Three layers

EngineThe function, the methodology, the reusable infrastructure. The layer that compounds across products.

ComponentsReusable outputs that ship in 2+ products, across any medium. The layer that compounds across time.

AppThe thing the user sees. The 7-day deliverable. The layer that compounds case studies.

Product = App + Components. Cutting an app at 8 months doesn't lose the components. The components survive into the next app. The engine survives every cut.

How the value is measured

Every app is scored on two axes. Both matter. Neither replaces the other.

CashflowBuild cost, monthly inference cost, MRR, time to first revenue. Operational efficiency.

SignalReusable modules produced, founder-type data points, cycle-time benchmarks, spec gaps, sales experiments. Compounding leverage.

Apps land in one of four cells:

High signal + high cashflow — the rare home run. Scale it.

Low signal + high cashflow — the boring winner. Keep it; the engine already learned what it can.

High signal + low cashflow — the research app. Budget the burn. Don't cut.

Low signal + low cashflow — the dead weight. Cut at 8 months.

The kill threshold: 110% of inference cost in monthly revenue at month 8. The success bar (the marketing claim): $1K MRR per app. The actual engine value: the cumulative signal density, not any single app's revenue.

What's running

Phase 1: software. Five apps, by increasing complexity. Each is a hypothesis test for the engine. Each is an experiment. The portfolio is the engine's instrument panel.

Cycle time ShipFast — a Next.js SaaS boilerplate. Tests whether the engine can ship a working SaaS in 7 days at <$5K total cost.

Spec-ability Senja — a testimonial collection + widget embed. Tests whether the spec-first practice survives a clean widget-renderer build.

Depth Fathom — a privacy-first analytics platform. Tests whether the engine produces a 30-day product, not just a 7-day one.

Integration Rewardful — a Stripe-native affiliate tracker. Tests whether the engine integrates with serious third-party infrastructure.

Pre-sell Subscribr — an AI newsletter tool. Tests whether the engine can pre-sell a spec before any code, the way Subscribr did in the wild.

What's next

Phase 2 — software continues; books (Kindle Direct Publishing) and physical goods (Etsy-class marketplaces) enter the portfolio. Same engine function; different output types.

Phase 3 — the engine is medium-agnostic. Components catalog spans software, books, and physical goods. The factory produces whatever the spec describes.

How to engage

If you have a spec — a thing you want built, a workflow you want specified, a founder-shape problem you want named — the factory is for you. The first conversation is the spec. The spec is the contract. The contract is the price.

Why this exists

Bezos started with books. We start with software. He built the everything store. We are building the everything factory.

The factory is the engine. Everyone is the orientation. This is the humanity in the age of AI.
